A engineering firm in Ireland approached us seeking a dewatering solution for food waste generated during potato processing. The feed material consists of a mixture of potato peels and potato starch, both present simultaneously after peeling.
Challenge
Potato peels and starch behave very differently in dewatering. Peels are fibrous and hold structural integrity, while starch is liquid before drying and tends to form a sticky paste. Without proper understanding, equipment selection could easily go wrong, leading to poor solid-liquid separation or frequent clogging.

After reviewing the client's video, we confirmed that the peels are shredded into small particles rather than large sheets. This key detail allowed us to accurately evaluate the material's dewatering characteristics and avoid mis-specification.

One of the standout features of this model is its variable-pitch screw design. The screw diameter gradually increases along the shaft, creating progressive compression.
