IV. Equipment Structure and Working Principle (see attached diagram)
1. Structure
- Crusher: composed of a feeding hopper, blades, filter screen, and housing.
- Screw Juicer: composed of a front support, feeding hopper, screw, filter screen, juice collector, rear support, and discharge trough. The left end of the screw shaft is supported in a rolling bearing seat, and the right end in the handwheel bearing seat. The screw is driven by a motor through a pair of V-belt pulleys.
2. Working Principle
- Crusher: The material is crushed by high-speed rotating blades.
- Screw Juicer: The core component is the screw, whose root diameter gradually increases and pitch gradually decreases toward the residue outlet. As the material is conveyed forward, the reduction of screw cavity volume produces pressing force. The screw rotates clockwise when viewed from the feeding hopper toward the discharge trough.
- The raw material enters the feeding hopper, is compressed by the screw, and the juice passes through the filter screen into the juice collector at the bottom. Waste residue is discharged through the annular gap between the screw and the pressure-regulating cone.
- The adjusting head moves axially to change the gap size. Turning the handwheel clockwise (viewed from the discharge trough toward the feeding hopper) moves the adjusting head leftward, narrowing the gap; turning it in the opposite direction enlarges the gap.
- Adjusting the gap regulates the resistance to residue discharge, thereby affecting the residue discharge rate. If the gap is too small, some residue particles may be squeezed through the filter screen with the juice, increasing juice yield but reducing juice quality. The gap should be set according to specific process requirements.
V. Operation and Maintenance
1. Operation
- Start the crusher and juicer simultaneously to enter normal operation.
- Initially, set the gap between the juicer handwheel and nut to maximum. Then, gradually reduce the gap according to residue discharge conditions. Once the process requirements are met, secure the handwheel and nut.
- During operation, if the crusher stops feeding material, use the residue cleaning lever to clear blockages.
2. Maintenance
- After each work shift, clean the filter screen with water and a brush, and manually remove residue inside the machine.
- For fibrous fruits/vegetables, clean the screen more frequently depending on production needs.
- After pressing is completed, clean the entire machine with hot water.
